Azerbaijan Minister for Industry & Energy to talk at Oil Conference in Beijing

Natik Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Ministry for Industry & Energy, will deliver a report on Contemporary Energy Policy of Azerbaijan' at the forthcoming specialized international conference on heavy oil production and refinery to be held in Beijing on 12-15 November, Trend reports.

The Minister is also expected to meet with heads of sectors at the Chinese Ministry of Industry & Energy.

Khoshbakht Yusufzadeh, the First Vice-Premier of the Geology, Geophysics, and Field Development of SOCAR (State oil Company of Azerbaijan), as well as representatives of Salyan Oil, will be in attendance.

A delegation of China's CNPC (China National Petroleum Company) visited Baku in May. The Chinese delegation held meetings with officials of the Azerbaijan Industry & Energy Ministry and representatives of SOCAR. During the visit, the Chinese guests invited Azerbaijan specialists in the field of oil production to take part in a specialized conference.

Such a conference will be held for the first time in history. During the conference, issues on the efficient use of heavy oil grades from their development to refinery will be discussed. During the event, Azerbaijani specialists in the field of heavy oil production and refinery are expected to address the participants. In total, more than 500 companies from all over the World are expected to participate in the forthcoming event.

In Azerbaijan, CNPC is the operator of the two onshore contract areas Kyursangi-Garabaghli and South-East Gobustan.
