Azerenerji Eliminates Consequences of a Hurricane in South Azerbaijan

A hurricane wind rushed into the south regions of the country. It had a significant impact on the electric power supply to the population in Astara, Lerik, and Yardimli Districts of Azerbaijan, a source in the press-service of Azerenerji JSC informed Trend.

Repair service brigades of the Joint-Stock Company are fulfilling a plan on elimination of emergency conditions. Due to the strong wind, 100 tangent towers, transmission lines, and transformers were put out of operation. As a result of the operative measures taken, these faults could be eliminated in a short term. 1,000 meters of cable and 2 transformers have been delivered and installed in Lerik District. Three transformers with different capacities, more than 20 tangent towers and 2,500 meters of cable were set up in Yardimli Region. Three transformers were installed in Astara District. Despite of the faults with the electric power transmission and supply, the consumers were provided with electricity in a timely manner.
