The company is currently drilling well A-21 вЂ" an ERD (extended reach drilling) water injector on Chirag field, which was spudded in January, Trend reports. The current plans are to drill two more wells on Chirag this year, according BP Azerbaijan
On Central Azeri the company completed the third platform-drilled well (which was a producer) at the end of last November and are currently drilling the fourth platform well, which is scheduled to complete by the end of February. There are plans to drill three more wells from the CA platform this year - two water injectors and a production well.
On West Azeri since April 2006, when the company successfully completed the tie-back of all four pre-drilled wells to the platform, BP has drilled four platform wells with the fourth well spudded in mid- December as a water injector. This well reached a total depth of 3755m at the end of January and is currently being completed. There are plans to drill four more wells from WA this year.
On East Azeri BP is continuing completion and tie-back activities of the pre-drilled wells. This will continue through to the middle of 2007 when we will commence drilling the first platform- well. There are plan to drill two new wells (both water injectors) from the EA platform by the end of 2007.
On Deep Water Gunashli (DWG) pre-drilling has continued successfully since the upgrade programme of the Dada Gorgud semi-submersible drilling rig was completed in August 2006. Following the successful maintenance and upgrade programme, the rig returned to the drilling, utilities and quarters (DUQ) platform location and re-commenced pre-drilling from the template. Since that time the company has drilled and suspended five pre-drill wells and the rig is currently drilling the sixth pre-drill well on the DUQ location, which is designed as a cuttings re-injection well.
The DWG pre-drilling programme currently consists of eight wells, seven of which are planned as producers and one as a cuttings re-injection well (to be used for platform drilling activity only). The DWG drilling campaign also includes ten subsea water injection wells, which will also be drilled by the Dada Gorgud.
