Oil&Gas Materials 25 July 2007 16:10 (UTC +04:00)

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) restored its production of petrol and liquefied gas at a catalytic cracking plant at the Baku Oil Refining Plant named after Heydar Aliyev, according to SOCAR.

Operation of the plant was suspended in July for special repairs, resulting in the production of liquefied gas being completely halted.

The capacity of the plant is 2mln t of crude a year. It covers the domestic demand for petrol and liquefied gas. On average, the production ranges between 400 and 500t of liquefied gas.

Suspension of operation of the catalytic cracking plant resulted in an increase of exported oil. In July, SOCAR doubled its exportation of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk, up to 164,000t. Additional oil volumes were delivered to Israeli Oil Refineries LTD, which already purchased 84,000t of oil from SOCAR in July.
