Central Bank of Uzbekistan signs agreement with IFC

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has signed agreements with International Finance Corporation in the field of development of digital financial services and financial literacy, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The agreements are aimed at improving the regulatory environment for the development of electronic and digital financial services and implementation of programs to improve financial literacy.

The main purpose of these projects is to increase the financial accessibility of financial services for the population.

IFC experts will assist in developing regulatory documents in the field of electronic and digital financial services, in particular: remote servicing and provision of financial services, introduction of principles of remote identification of clients, regulatory sandbox for payment systems, attraction of bank payment agents by credit institutions.

In the area of improving financial literacy of the population, the IFC will assist the Central Bank in training personnel in commercial banks of the Republic for further consultation (training) of their clients on topics related to budget planning and principles of cash management, responsible for borrowing and formation of savings, as well as digital financial literacy.

The Central Bank will continue to expand cooperation with international financial institutions in the field of development of financial accessibility, digital financial services and financial literacy.
