By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

The development of new technologies does not exclude an increase in the threat of cyber-attacks, a source in the Electronic Government Development Center of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The center mainly focuses on ensuring data security in the electronic services it develops, the source said.

“In this direction, the center has a team of cybersecurity experts. Artificial intelligence solutions, such as voice and face recognition, help evaluate user requests,” the center said.

According to the E-Gov Development Center, the final decision on the identification of the user by voice and face is made by the operators behind the system.

“Making a final decision on user identification does not increase, but, on the contrary, reduces the threat of cyber-attacks and data interception, allowing a more accurate analysis of the request,” the source emphasized.

In addition to launching new electronic services, the Center pays great attention to studying the opinions of citizens.

“To do this, regular surveys are conducted among the population about electronic services, their results are analyzed, and current calls to Call-centers are analyzed. The recently activated video registration service in the ASAN Login system was launched precisely on the basis of this analysis,” said the center.

Earlier, for registration using an identification number (FIN-code of the identity card) in the unified access system ASAN Login, a mobile phone number was used in conjunction with this code.

“This has created difficulties for citizens whose mobile phone numbers are not registered with them. But in the case of registration in the services of the ASAN Service and other government structures through video registration, a mobile phone number associated with the FIN code is no longer required,” the center said.

In addition, the implementation of the video recording project is intended to solve another problem.

“If the mobile phone number added during registration is no longer active, it will be difficult to log in again. But now, having logged in via video, a new mobile phone number can be added to the ASAN Login account,” the center said.
