BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by about 44.7 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 115,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 6th month. Of this, 99,000 tons were loaded and 15,600 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 55,600 tons of cargo were exported and 6,930 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.

Within the 6th month, 709 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,780 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 42,700 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 73 tons of cargo were loaded, and 5,900 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 6th month.

“Some 46,300 tons of essential products, 16 tons of metal products, about 23,900 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,590 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 39 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5,920 tons of container products, and 35,800 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

In general, about 13.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.67 million tons were loaded and about 6.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
