Volume of oil products loaded, unloaded at Iran’s ports hike by 6%

The total amount of oil products loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in the first three months of 2016 increased by six percent year-on-year.

The total amount of oil products loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in the first three months of 2016 increased by six percent year-on-year.

According to the country's Ports and Maritime Organization, over the past three months 35.8 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at ports across the country. The figure for loading oil products in the mentioned period stood at 30.1 million tons. Meanwhile the country unloaded 5.7 million tons in the first three months of 2016.

The volume of Iran's loading and unloading of oil products increased by 1.8 percent in 2015 compared to 2014. According to the Ports and Maritime organization, Iran loaded and unloaded 139.3 million tons of oil products at its ports in 2014 while the figure reached 141.8 million tons in 2015. The volume of Iran's export of oil products increased by 16.4 percent, reaching 84.1 million tons in 2015.

The statistics also show that the import of oil products hiked by 5.2 percent to reach 2.4 million tons in 2015.
