Iran's home appliances production increases

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.28

Iran's home appliances production is expected to increase to more than 30 percent by the end of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), said Deputy Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in industrial affairs.

"During first eight months of current Iranian year domestic production of the refrigerator has increased 28 percent compare to last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019)," said Mehdi Sadeghi Niyaraki, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The production of television sets and washing machine have increased 40 percent and 58 percent compare to last Iranian year meanwhile production of water air conditioner had 6 percent negative growth," he said.

"Production of small home appliances has increased by 40 percent from the start of current Iranian year until October that indicates the industry is improving despite current difficulties of sanction situation and replacing imports," he noted.

Niyaraki went on to say that the most important aim of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade is to provide relative stability for producers that is mainly caused by foreign currency rate. About 30 percent of the home appliances industry depends on basic material, parts, and foreign equipment that effected by the foreign currency rate.

"The target for production of small, average, and big home appliances production for the current Iranian year is 12 million sets. The country's production of small, average, and big home appliances was about 9 million sets last Iranian year while production in the current Iranian year had increased by 4 million more sets," he added.

At the moment between 65 to 70 percent of home appliances production are manufactured domestically, the water-air condition is fully produced domestically.
