Georgia Oppose Meeting of President with Tskhinvalia Leader

Georgia, Tbilisi, 23 January / Trend corr. N.Kirtsakhalia / Georgia opposes the meeting for meeting of Michael Saakashvili, Georgian President, with Edward Kokoit, the President of de-facto self-proclaimed Tskhinvalia Republic. "If such a meeting to be held then it must be directed to settlement of the conflict," David Bakradze, the acting State Minister on Regulation of Conflicts, stated answering to Kokoit's questions.

Today, Kokoit delivered a report during the meeting with Saakashvili. Kokoit stressed that he hade been waiting for the meeting for four years.

"If Kokoit has concrete proposals on settlement of the conflict, and he is ready to participate in this process, we are prepared to consider them and then decide to meet or not," Bakradze said.
