Turkish Chief of General Staff, Necdet Ozel is expected to resign on August 30, the country's Vatan newspaper reported on July 8, citing military sources.

The newspaper said that the reason for the supposed resignation of the country's chief of General Staff is related to his health problems.

Turkey's General Staff neither denied nor confirmed this information.

Necdet Ozel was appointed the chief of Turkey's General Staff on August 4, 2011.
