On Thursday Baku hosted an event on eighth anniversary of establishment of YES global youth network.

Addressing the event, former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga appreciated the care of young people in Azerbaijan and activities of YES organization. She said the main problem of Europe is currently low birth rate and high mortality.

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said that today's youth is actively involved in public-political life. This work is done due to supported by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to youth and youth organizations. Activities of youth organizations of Azerbaijan are conducted out outside the country.
The MP wished to increase the number and activities of organizations such as YES. According to her, everyone should support initiatives by young people for their successful implementation.

MP Gular Ahmedova said that Azerbaijan has enough youth possessing great potential. According to her, YES organization has made significant contribution to the healthy development of young people in Azerbaijan. MP recommended active members of youth in the future to run for parliamentary elections. "I wish you success in writing the modern history of Azerbaijan," said Ahmedova.
MP Gultekin Hajibeyli said that she wants to see the youth of Azerbaijan principled and decisive. "Building a happy future for Azerbaijan is in the hands of these young people," said Hajibeyli.

At the event, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children of Azerbaijan Hijran Huseynova, MP Ganira Pashayeva, Gular Ahmadova, President of Azercell Telekom Company Ali Agan, singer Tunzala Agayeva, as well as former president of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga were awarded with honorary diplomas for their merits in the field of youth development.
