Kazan Motor Production Association and the "Uzbekneftegaz" National Holding Company signed a contract for the supply of seven pumping units for the construction of two compressor stations in the south of Uzbekistan, the representative of the holding told Trend.

The KMPA will supply five gas pumping units GPA-16 "Volga" for "Shurtan" BCS (booster compression station) and two - for "Alan" BCS in Kashkadarya region worth a total of $ 254 million, the source said.

In accordance with the contract, the KMPA will also carry out "turnkey" installation of equipment.

Recall that the construction of the booster compressor station is part of the additional development projects on two fields -Alan gas field and Shurtan gas condensate field with the total value of $559.7 million. The cost of additional construction project of the Shurtan field is $309.5 million, Alan field - $250.2 million.

Within the Shurtan project, it is planned to drill 18 operational wells, overhaul 16 wells, as well as expand the existing system of collection and transportation of natural gas with the construction of booster compressor station with the capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.

The additional construction project of the Alan field envisages improvement of 27 operational wells and construction of BCS with the capacity of five billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Projects implemented in 2012, will help to sustain production of gas in the fields under depletion of gas pressure. Their implementation will bring overall annual gas production in the fields up to 9.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year in the long-term.

The project's funding is carried out at the expense of "Uzbekneftegaz" in the amount of $250.9 million, a loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan - $106.9 million, loans from local and foreign banks - $202.2 million.

Both fields were commissioned in the second half of 1970s. Fields' reserves are not disclosed.

It is scheduled to implement projects for further development of oil and gas fields at total cost of $2.35 billion in Uzbekistan by the end of 2020.

Uzbekneftegaz is the monopoly operator of the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan. The company was established in 1998 and comprises six joint stock companies.

Uzbekistan holds third place among the CIS countries for the production of natural gas and is among the ten largest gas-producing countries in the world. Every year, the country produces more than 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas, about 25 percent of which is exported.
