By Huseyn Hasanov - Trend:

Turkmenistan plans to start supplying its remote villages and settlements with natural gas in 2016, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper has reported.

The work for construction of gas supply networks will be continued in almost all regions of the country.

The report said it is planned to use larger diameter pipes for an uninterrupted gas supply to farms, replace metal pipes with plastic ones on aggressive soil, as well as significantly increase the length of the gas lines.

The Turkmengas State Concern laid and reconstructed over 800 kilometers of gas pipelines in 2015 for an uninterrupted gas supply to Turkmen settlements, including the remote ones, reported the newspaper.

Turkmenistan, according to the BP report, ranks the fourth in the world for natural gas reserves.
