Iran eyes expansion of trade ties with Armenia

Iran has expressed its readiness to help creating a special trade zone in Armenia.

Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines, and Trade Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh has called for the expansion of trade ties between the two countries saying the creation of the special trade zone can contribute to deepening trade ties, ILNA news agency reported.

The visiting minister also said that the two countries should make efforts aimed at removing banking obstacles to establishing ties between the private companies of the two countries.

Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh spoke about cooperation in mining sector and said that Iran is ready to help Armenia to develop its copper, iron and gold mines.

According to the minister, Iran plans to finalize a preferential trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).Therefore Iran expects Armenia to help finalizing the agreement.
