Iran ups gas supply to power plants by 18.4%

Iran has increased gas delivery to power plans by 18.4 percent to 8.656 billion cubic meters (bcm) during 52 days of the current fiscal year (March 21-May 12).

According to the latest weekly report, released by Iran’s Energy Ministry, Iran decreased gas oil and fuel oil supply to power plants by 11.7 percent and 77.9 percent to 90 million and 88 million liters respectively as well.

During the mentioned period, Iran added 270 megawatts (MW) to nominal power generation capacity, which stands at 76,832 MW.

Iran increased electricity exports three times to above 1 billion kWh, while its imports declined by 18 percent to 0.65 billion kWh.

In total, the gross electricity production reached 39.268 billion kWh in Iran during the mentioned period of 52 days.
