Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 April / Trend, A. Taghiyeva /

Azerbaijan's development and the rapid growth of its economy set an example for many countries around the world, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of Kuwait Zikr Aida Al-Rashidi told Trend on Thursday.

"Holding a meeting of the Ministers of Labour of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku is very important, as Azerbaijan is an example of development and progress," Al-Rashidi said.

According to her, the relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait have a long history, and intensification of the partnership in various fields has been observed in recent years, in particular, in the sphere of economy, culture, tourism and education.

Al-Rashidi noted that such events allow the preparation of projects and schemes of action to reduce unemployment and improve social conditions for the residents of the OIC member countries.

A meeting of the Ministers of Labour and Social Protection of the OIC member countries started in Baku on April 25. The meeting brought together the Ministers of Labour and Social Security of Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Turkey, Kuwait and other countries.

After the conference on Friday, the participating countries will adopt the Baku framework document, which will form the basis for further cooperation between the OIC countries in the field of labor and social protection.

This document will include an action plan for the coming years.

The next Ministerial Conference will be held in 2015 in Jakarta (Indonesia).
