Azerbaijan can be considered as a regional leader in terms of holding significant and important events in the country, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said on Wednesday at a meeting with the High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilisations Nasir Abdul Aziz Al-Nasser in Baku.
Holding the Second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku is important, the minister said.
Stressing that cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations is gradually expanding, Garaev added that the Forum is also a significant event in terms of cross-cultural experience.
Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser also noted the importance of the Forum. According to him, by hosting the event, Azerbaijan contributes to the work of the UN.
It can be recalled that Baku will host the Second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue under the slogan 'Peaceful co-existence in a multicultural world' on May 29 - June 1.
