Awards defined for Azerbaijani athletes, coaches for achievements at Rio Olympics
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order defining awards for Azerbaijani athletes for their achievements at the 31st Summer Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as their coaches.
First vice-president and vice-president positions proposed to be established in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on submitting the draft Referendum Act “On making amendments to Azerbaijan’s constitution” to the Constitutional Court.
It is proposed to establish first vice-president and vice-president positions in Azerbaijan. First vice-president and vise-presidents are appointed and dismissed by Azerbaijan’s president.
It is proposed to remove “not younger than 35” in Article 100 on requirements to candidates to the post of the president of Azerbaijan: “Citizen of the Azerbaijan Republic not younger than 35, permanently living on the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic longer than 10 years, possessing voting right, without previous conviction, having no liabilities in other states, with university degree, not having double citizenship may be elected the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.”
Moreover, it is proposed to make amendments to the part 1 of Article 101 on procedure of elections of the president of Azerbaijan, according to which it is planned to extend the office term of the president from 5 years to 7 years.
President Aliyev signs order on extra measures to improve housing conditions of IDP families
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on extra measures to improve the housing conditions of IDP families.
Under the order, 2.5 million manats were allocated from the President’s Contingency Fund to the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs in order to provide the IDP families, who were temporarily settled in outdated buildings in Baku, with new apartments through buying ready housing.
Azerbaijan allocates 3M manats for continuation of residential building construction for press workers
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on providing funds for the continuation of construction of a residential building for press workers.
According to the order, three million manats will be allocated from the President’s Contingency Fund to the State Fund for Support of Mass Media Development for the continuation of the construction of the building.
Azerbaijan’s president orders to provide one-time financial assistance to newspapers
President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order providing one-time financial assistance to newspapers published in Azerbaijan.
Under the order, one million manats will be allocated from the President`s Contingency Fund to the State Fund for Support of Mass Media Development for paying one-time financial assistance to local newspapers.
