An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in southern Kazakhstan on Thursday, Kazakhstan National Data Centre reported.
The earthquake occurred at 2:51 a.m. Astana time (6:51 a.m. Greenwich time), 78 kilometres to the south-west from the city of Shimkent .
There is no information about victims or damage.
