Iran earnes $22 bln of net oil export revenues in January-March

Iran's net oil export revenues amounted to $22 billion in January-March of 2012, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported.

According to the EIA estimates, the country earned $95 billion in net oil expport revenues in 2011.

Iran is major oil exporter within OPEC. The importer of Iranian oil is Asia including Japan, China and South Korea and European countris. This week Iran's Press TV reported that Islamic Republic has cut oil supplies to Germany. Earlier the country announced that it has cut oil export to Greece, Span, and British and French companies as a step that taken in retaliation of imposed sanction over Iranian oil import by EU on Jan. 23. Embargo on Iranian oil import by EU members will take effect on July 1.

EIA said that Iran's per capita net oil export revenues amounted to $323 in January-March, 2012. In 2011 the country's per capita oil export revenues, according to EIA estimates, was $1,409.

EIA predicts OPEC to earn an estimated $1,171 billion of net oil export revenues in 2012 and $1,133 billion in 2013. According th the estimates, in 2011 OPEC earned $1,026 billion in net oil export revenues, a 33 percent increase from 2010.

Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $312 billion, representing 30 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earnings reached $2,684 in 2011, OPEC said.
