Hulusi Akar, former Land Forces Commander General has been appointed new Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Force.

Hulusi Akar, Former Land Forces Commander General has been appointed new Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Force, Milliyet newspaper reported.

The Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Force Necdet Ozel has resigned due to health problems.

Necdet Ozel was appointed chief of Turkish General Staff on Aug.4, 2011.

Akar has been the land forces commander of Turkish armed forces since 2013.
