Azerbaijani opposition movement can be considered dissolved: party chairman

Azerbaijan, Baku, October 17 / Trend , A.Huseynbala /

The crisis within the opposition movement has caused the collapse of the structure, said the chairman of the Azerbaijani opposition party.

"In fact, the actions of the Musavat Party suspended the activities of the movement and it will be impossible remove the crisis," Sardar Jalaloglu, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP), which is part of the Movement for Karabakh and Republic, told Trend on Oct. 17.

Musavat Party, represented in the Movement for Karabakh and Republic, has put condition before the Umid Party that the latter must withdraw its representatives from the election commissions. And Umid Party stated that it will fulfill this requirement if members of Musavat group of MPs give up their mandates. The difference between the two parties caused serious crisis within the movement.

According to Jalaloglu, after this, the founders have to come together to declare the termination of the movement's activities.

"But despite that the positions of the parties represented in the Azadlyg bloc are not completely clear, this decision delays," said the ADP chairman.

He said that, the founders can not hold the meeting because of the uncertainty of position of Azadlyg bloc regarding the conflict between the parties Musavat and Umid. "It seems to me to solve this problem will be impossible. And the guilty for this is the Musavat Party, said Jalaloglu.

Movement for Karabakh and Republic was established by Azerbaijani People Front, Party of Citizen and Development, Liberal party, Azerbaijani Democratic party, Musavat party, Umid party, as well as several public organizations in connection the referendum on additions and amendments to the Constitution which took place on March 18, 2009.
