Turkey, as a country suffering from terrorism, fights against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party, but not against the Kurds, TRT Haber TV channel quotes Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying on Wednesday.
Erdogan said Ankara has a full right to defend its territory against terrorism and the fight against terrorism will continue as long as the PKK rebels lay down their arms.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
