Kazakhstans joining the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan is the clear example of the desirable partnership between the two countries, Latif Gandilov, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Kazakhstan, told Trend in a exclusive interview.

According to Gandilov, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will jointly participate in ensuring the energy security of Europe. Due to the wise policy of our presidents, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan could turn their opportunities into economic advantages. Many countries possess rich sources, but they cannot realize them, the ambassador told.

I think that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will jointly participate in trans-Caspian projects. We have important reserves of gas and it would be accurate if we could export our gas to Europe through trans-Caspian pipes, Gandilov told.

He noted that the construction of the grain terminal in Baku is one more indicator of cooperation where the two countries participates not only in energy security, but also food security.

During the visit of Kazakh primer to Azerbaijan in May of the current year, an agreement was reached on the construction of an additional terminal in Aktau. At the moment, the place and the realization period of the project are being agreed, and the construction should start in the near future, he added.

Kazakhstan side is interested in construction of a connection line through Caspian. The talks are already held between relevant bodies.
