Executive Director of WFP discusses with Azerbaijani government next phase of program Long-term assistance and restoration operations

The Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) James Morris discusses with the Azerbaijani government the next phase of the program Long-term assistance and restoration operations , realization of which will start one of these days, Trend reports quoting the Baku Office of UNO WFP.

Today, Morris is expected to meet with prime minister Artur Rasizade, vise-primer and the chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Ali Hasanov, foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov and may be the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.

Morris is going to exchange views on realization of the project, within which 130 000 Azerbaijani internally displaced persons inhabited in 11 regions of the country will receive aid. UNO is one of the first international organizations that provides assistance to IDPs of Azerbaijan suffered as a result of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.

Within the visit to Azerbaijan, Morris visited the camps and new residences of refugees and IDPs in Imishli and Belasuvar districts where he get familiar with their living conditions.

As a result of the visit to Azerbaijan, Morris will on July 28 hold a press-conference in Hotel Hyatt Part. After Azerbaijan, he will visit Georgia and Armenia.
