Moldova   Offers Favorable Conditions for Accessible Transportation of Commodities with     Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan , Baku / corr . Trend I.Khalilova / The Prime Minister of Moldova, Vasily Tarlev, made a proposal to the members of the Joint Moldovan-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission to create favorable conditions for accessible transportation to the people and commodities between the two countries. Tarlev stated at the Azerbaijani-Moldovan business-forum in Baku on 23 February that the Moldovan economy has the potential to co-operate with Azerbaijan in many aspects, especially in the joint development of the sugar industry.

The business forum had been organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Foundation (AZPROMO). According to Tarlev, presently there are favorable conditions in Moldova for the development of the business and presently the economy of the country is liberalized to create attractive conditions. "We are fighting with bureaucracy as well as negative actions preventing the development of the business," he said.

The present obstacle between the two countries is the absence of direct air links. "During the meeting with the President and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan on 23 February, I offered to open Kishinev-Baku air flights as soon as possible," he said.

The First Vice Primer of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyyubov, agreed with the assessment of the possibilities of developing the co-operation between the two countries. He considers that the business people would come to a common conclusion after the visit of the Governmental delegation of Moldova to Baku and the conduct of the business forum.

Participating at the forum, the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev and the Chairman of the Chamber of Trade Moldova , Georgi Kuku, informed the participants on the economic potentials of the two countries and priority directions of the co-operation.
