Editors of Azerbaijani Newspapers Meet with Turkish State Officials

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The Turkish Parliament is ready to work with the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) to disclose Armenian false claims, Maral Agshiner, the Turkish Vice Speaker, said during a meeting with Azerbaijani newspaper editors, Hoshgadam Hidayatoglu, the Editor-in-Chief of the Uch Nogta newspaper, reported to Trend Agency on 3 October.

A delegation of Azerbaijani editors held meetings with the State Minister of Turkey, Gurshad Tuzmen, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Ahmad Unal Chevikez, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Maral Agshiner, and many other Turkish state officials.

The Turkish President is planning to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan, Gurshad Tuzmen said. The main issues of discussion will be investments in both oil and non-oil sectors in Azerbaijan, as well as the expansion of bilateral economic relations. Turkey has developed new economic projects in Azerbaijan.

Turkey's anti-terrorist activities were discussed at a meeting with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Ministry on Central Asia, Caucasus, and Russia and the former ambassador of Turkey in Azerbaijan, Unal Chavikez.

The deputy Director General of the Botas company, Huseyn Saltuk, spoke about his company's projects in Azerbaijan, including the Nabucco project, planned to be implemented by the end of 2007. The company is also holding negotiations with Turkmenistan on gas transport via Azerbaijan to Europe.

Azerbaijani journalists held meetings through the Turkish NTV, TRT channels and other media bodies.
