The trial over a resident of Baku, who has provided false information about a bomb placed in a car in front of the State Oil Company was launched in Azerbaijan.

Today the Heinous Crimes Court considered the criminal case of Elkhan Samedov.

Samedov gave testimony in the court and pleaded himself not guilty. He said that he was summoned for questioning in the Sabail Police Department No 8. "I was driven out of my wits by the police. I decided to bother them. I gave information about a bomb placed in a car parked in front of the oil company," he said.

Samedov said that he regretted about his deed.

He is charged under the article 216 (Obviously untrue report on terrorism) of the Criminal Code.

According to the accusation, an unknown person who parked "Mercedes" in front of the oil company on the avenue Neftchilar in Sabail region, disappeared on August 7.

A security guard of the company demanded to remove the car by dialing a mobile phone number, which was stuck to the car's rear window. In response he was told that he dialed the wrong number.

But someone phoned a security guard in ten minutes.  A stranger told about a bomb placed in a car which will explode.

As a result of operational search measures conducted by employees of the Sabail Police department No 9, the information was not confirmed.
