Azeri alpinist eager to attain pick of Antarctica

Israfil Ashurlu, an Azerbaijani alpinist, will participate in the expedition to Winson pick (4887m), the highest point of Antarctica, till the end of the
year.

The head of the Alpinists Club, Saridan Mursaguliyev, told Trend the sportsmen will for the next time become a participant in the project �7 tops’, organized by the Moscow-based Federation of Alpinism and Rock-climbing jointly with Alpindustriya firm. Under the program the rock-climber succeeded to visit Kilimanjaro, Akokongua, Mc-Kenly and Elbrus, while now he is staring for Antarctica. Mursaguliyev also noted that the journey was scheduled for December, so Ashurlu has time for preparations.

It is notable that Israfail has not missed any journey under the program �7 tops’ and next year he intends to go Kostyushko pick, the highest point in Austria, and Everest.
