Arrested Members of National Assembly of Azerbaijanis of Georgia Released

Three members of the national Assembly of Azerbaijanis of Georgia who were arrested two days ago have been released, Niyazi Husseynov, the Secretary General of the Assembly told Trend.

It should be noted that they were arrested by distributing of copies of the paper of Gummat printed in Baku. In the connection of this incident, the Assembly made an announcement that if its members are not released within 20 days, then actions of protests will be launched in Gardabani and Marneuli Districts of Georgia, and the Tbilisi-Yerevan railway and highway will be stopped up as well.

Yesterday, Head of the Presidential Office of Georgia Georgy Arveladze called N. Husseynov. During their telephone conversation he pointed out that the Georgian internal Ministry was ordered to release the Assembly`s members and return the copies of the paper being confiscated to them.

According to N. Husseynov, that day`s evening the three meebers of the assembly were released. The confiscated copies of the paper they had distributed among the Azerbaijani population of Georgia were returned to them.
