Derse, called on the Head of Azerbaijan to ensure the disclosure of the assassination of the Editor-in-Chief of Monitor Magazine, Elmar Huseynov. While participating in the second anniversary of Huseynov's assassination, she remembered that those who are responsible for this crime have not been arrested yet. According to her, the people in the free society have the right to obtain information and this demand is ensured by the professional and impendent press organizations. "Those who frighten beat and kill such journalists as Elmar Huseynov, try to deprive the people of this right. The killers of Huseynov could kill one man, but they could not and will never be able to smother the idea. Huseynov will live as a symbol of freedom and will inspire freedom lovers to fight for their rights," Derse said.
She added that Azerbaijan has chosen democratic society with its will and therefore, the killers of Elmar Huseynov should be arrested and punished.
