Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. K. Zarbaliyeva/ Nazim Alakbarov, the Deputy Azerbaijan's Justice Minister, Chief of the Penitentiary System of the Country, has said today that a pre-trial isolator will be constructed in the Eastern Azerbaijani City of Ali-Bayramli. Mr. Alakbarov noted that the works had been launched in this direction.
In addition, Mr. Alakbarov informed about the construction of another pre-trial isolator on the way from Baku to the Settlement of Kyurdakhan. "A land specially allotted for the construction of a pre-trial isolator has been allotted on the way from Baku to Kyurdakhan. Design estimates of the mentioned construction are currently being compiled. During designing the mentioned project, the relevant experience of some European countries has been borrowed. Specialists representing different international organization and some European countries are taking part in the preparation for the project of construction of the mentioned institution. As soon as all documentary works are completed, the construction of the isolator will be launched," said Mr. Alakbarov.
Mr. Alakbarov also told about the removal of the correctional institutions based in the Capital to regions of the Country. The Deputy of the Justice Minister of the Country said that President Ilham Aliyev had given corresponding orders and commissions, and the leadership Justice Ministry and Penitentiary System had commenced the implementation of the mentioned campaign. The construction of several correctional institutions has already been carrying out in Shaki, Lankaran, and Nakhchivan Regions of the Country. The corresponding works are presently being carried out in this direction in other Azerbaijani regions as well.
Notably, a total of 17 correctional institutions, one prison, 3 pre-trial isolators, one patient care institution, and 14 special points are presently operating in the country.
