Iran plans new highway in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

The 136 km long Pataveh-Dehdasht highway in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (western Iran) is planned to be put into operation in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Director General of the Roads and Urban Development Department of province Pejman Nik Eghbali said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

The director general noted that there is currently 93 percent physical progress in the construction of this highway.

Nik Eghbali added that 14 bridges with a total length of 1,510 meters and 346 large tunnels with a total length of 9,550 meters were built on the highway.

“So far, 11 trillion rials (about $262 million) have been spent on the highway. Some 10 trillion rials (about $238 million) has been spent in the last eight years. Also, 4.2 trillion rials (about $100 million) is needed to complete the work on the highway,” he said.

According to the director general, with the launch of this highway, the distance from Iran's Isfahan Province to the Imam Khomeini port of in Khuzestan Province will be reduced by 270 kilometers, and the distance time – by 4 hours.
