Ali-zade / Inflation in Azerbaijan will make up 12-14% in 2008, the Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev said at the meeting of parliamentary commissions dedicated to the public budget for 2008 on 5 November. Inflation will comprise 16% in Azerbaijan.
"Struggle against inflation is in the centre of our attention. The issue is discussed at the Government once a week," Babayev said.
According to the Minister, rise in prices for vegetable oil and sugar is also under discussion.
"If production of vegetable oil costs too expensive we cannot make the entrepreneurs cut the price," he said. Administrative methods may lead to negative results.
