Investments to Kazakhstan exceed $90bln: president

Kazakhstan has been able to attract $90 billion investments since its independence, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his speech at the Council of Investors, the full text of which is posted on the site of Ak-Orda.

"Over the years we have been able to attract more than $90 billion investment, but domestic investment was $140 billion. It is these funds have allowed Kazakhstan to increase its economy as compared to 2000 in 2.5 times," Nazarbayev said.

"We hope for your understanding, and today I heard this understanding, for which thank you," the president said.

Companies of mining sector has already signed memorandum with Kazakh producers amounting to more than 330 billion tenge and the specific contracts worth over 200 billion, he added.

"As of the first quarter, Kazakh's share in three huge oil and gas projects with participation of foreign investors was 38 percent or $600 million," the president said.
