Iran’s Q1 legal cosmetics import reaches $25M

Iran imported 760 billion rials ($24.6 million) of various cosmetic products during the first quarter of the current fiscal year that started on March 21, ISNA reported citing an Iran Customs Administration report.

According to the report, this figure makes only about 20 percent of the total cosmetics imports, because 80 percent account for illegal imports of cosmetics.

During the three months, the country imported 2,000 tons of various cosmetics legally, mostly from Spain (81 tons), United Arab Emirates (512 tons), Italy (70 tons), Germany (150 tons), Turkey (275 tons), Switzerland (112 tons), China (50 tons), France (300 tons) and India (270 tons).

Half of the imported cosmetics are perfume and skin-care products.
