Estonia ready to deepen cooperation with Georgia

Estonia is ready to further develop cooperation with Georgia, said Minister of Rural Affairs of Estonia Arvo Aller, Trend reports with reference to Georgian media.

He made the remark at the meeting with Archil Karaulashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Estonia.

At the meeting, the parties praised the dynamic and close cooperation between Georgia and Estonia in the field of agriculture. The sides also discussed the prospects for further the development of relations in this direction as well as the issues related to promotion of Georgian products on the Estonian market and deepening trade relations between the two countries.

The meeting focused on the importance of the exchange of experience that Estonia has in applying European standards. In this direction, specific areas of possible cooperation with Estonia were discussed.

The Estonian side has confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation with Georgia with the same intensity and provide appropriate support.

Georgia and Estonia established diplomatic relations on June 17, 1992.

The Estonian Embassy opened in Georgia in 2006, and the Georgian diplomatic mission in Estonia - in 2007.

The countries have very close relations. Twenty international agreements on cooperation in various fields have been concluded between Georgia and Estonia. The priority areas include defense, security, economics, tourism, environmental protection, education and culture.
