Turkish Halkbank may partake in privatization plan in Uzbekistan

Turkish Halkbank may take part in privatization of banks in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The issue was discussed during the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov with representatives of Turkish companies and commercial organizations.

In particular, the prerequisites for organizing Turkish Halkbank 's activities in Uzbekistan were considered with the General Director of Turkish Bank, Osman Arslan.

In particular, the sides discussed prospects of Halkbank's participation in privatization of state share in commercial banks of Uzbekistan, as well as opening credit lines to Uzbek banks for co-financing promising investment projects in Uzbekistan.

Following the results of meetings with Turkish businessmen, further practical actions directed at maintenance of steady mutually advantageous cooperation and strengthening of positions of the Turkish capital in the market of Uzbekistan have been outlined.
