Azerbaijan imported products for a total of $787 million in January 2021, which is 9.3 percent more compared to January 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

“The share of the public sector in imports amounted to over $67 million, which is about 8.51 percent of the total imports. Meanwhile, the share of the private sector made up $644.6 million, or 81.87 percent of the total. Individuals accounted for $75.7 million, or 9.62 percent,” said the report.

During Janury 2021, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations with 122 partner countries. At the same time, Azerbaijan imported most of all mechanisms, power tools, equipment and its spare parts, land vehicles (except for railway and tram vehicles), as well as their parts and accessories, ferrous metals and products from them.

In 2020, Azerbaijan imported products worth $10.7 billion, which is 21.1 percent less compared to 2019. The share of the public sector in imports amounted to $1.8 billion, or about 16.74 percent of the total. The share of the private sector amounted to $7.92 billion, or 73.84 percent of the total, individuals - $1.01 billion, or 9.4 percent.
