The Turkmendemiryollary Agency plans to purchase almost 2,000 Russian freight cars, Trend reports citing Turkmenportal.
The announcement was placed in the current list of requests for Russian export products, prepared in January by the Industry and Trade Ministry of Russia.
For the transportation of oil products, the agency requires 1,000 tank cars, 300 gondola cars, covered wagons, and fitting platforms, and 50 universal platforms.
According to the source, Turkmenistan planned to purchase more than 1,000 wagons in the summer of 2020.
In October 2021, Turkmenistan received a Russian-made TEP70BS passenger diesel locomotive and a 2TE25KM mainline freight locomotive.
The delivery was carried out in accordance with contracts signed between the Turkmendemiryollary and the Russian Transmashholding in fall 2020.
