(autoinsidernews) - The Jaguar S-Type, which has been on the market since 1999, will be replaced by an all-new model for the 2009 model year called the XF. However, that hasn't stopped Jaguar from giving the old cat one more refresh. Jaguar unveiled the barely revised 2008 S-Type at the Bologna Motor Show.
The 2008 Jaguar S-Type, which goes on sale early next year, features revisions to front end, including the S-Type R's bumper and mesh grille, several new wheel choices, and new standard features. While the S-Type's engines are unchanged, all models now feature Jaguar's six-speed automatic transmission. Inside, all S-Type's will come with leather seats (SE models get new leather seats with non-perforated leather), and a leather-trimmed steering wheel as standard. A new Satin Mahogany veneer is available as an option across the range (excluding XS). Choice is further extended with the availability of a new Ivory and Charcoal leather color combination for SE models, reports Trend.
There are now only four trim levels for the U.K.-spec S-Type, including the S-Type Spirit, XS, SE, and R. The 2008 model year sees Jaguar Racing Green replaced with new Emerald Fire. All other exterior colours remain unchanged.
