Turkey Receives Over 13mln cu m of Azerbaijani Gas Daily

Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 January / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Presently, Turkey receives some 13.5mln cu m of gas from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas and condensate field daily, the Government reported on 16 January.

According to the Government, some 7mln cu m of gas from Shah Deniz is passed daily to Azerbaijan. Some 1mln cu m of gas is transported daily to Georgia and a small assignment of gas (less than 1mln cu m) is carried to the pumping stations of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

Currently, some 22mln cu m of gas is produced a day in the Shah Deniz, the technical operator of which is ВР. Four wells are operating in the field.

"Other wells will be put into operation this year and there will be an increase in production this year," a source at the Government said.

During normal production within the framework of the Stage-1, production in the field will make up 8.6bln cu m of gas a year and some 30,000 barrels of condensate a day.
