SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) put two new wells into operation on Pirallahi Field, SOCAR said on August 19. The field is owned by Absheronneft oil and gas production unit.
Seven tons of oil will be produced from each well. Depth of well is 1,440 meters, and another - 1,420 meters.
Pirallahi Field has been operating since 1902, and during 107 years have produced 27 million tons of oil. According to recent estimates, the remaining reserves of the field total two million tons.
In Azerbaijan there are 57 oil and gas fields, including 18 offshore and other - onshore. SOCAR staff today is more than 62,000 people.
