Georgian ports decrease transshipments in 2011

The Georgian ports transshipped 22.1 million tons of various cargo in 2011 compared to 22.7 million tones in 2010, Georgian government said on Monday.

The Georgian Black Seaport Batumi transshipped 7.9 million tons of various cargo in 2011 compared to 8 million tons in 2010.

The Kazakh oil, which is supplied to Georgia through Azerbaijan, is transshipped through Batumi port. The owner of an oil terminal in the Batumi port is the Kazakh KazMunaiGas.

According to the information, the Poti Port decreased its cargo transshipment. The port transshipped 7.2 million tons of cargo in 2011 compared to 7.3 million tons in 2010.

Port of Supsa transshipped 3.8 million tons in 2011 compared to 4 million tons in 2010.

Port of Kulevi transshipped 3.3 million tons in 2011 compared to 3.4 million tons in 2010.
