The Baku International Sea Trade Port transhipped 470,000 tons of oil in January-April, which is 22 per cent less compared to the same period last year, a source in Baku port told Trend on Wednesday.
The decrease in oil cargo transhipment from Central Asia is associated with their redirection to the oil terminal located in the San gachal settlement.
"The decrease in oil and oil product transportation has remained for four months," the source said. "In January-April, volume of oil and oil products transhipment decreased by 22 per cent," the source said.
In 2011 the port transhipped 1.74 million tons of oil cargo which is 13 per cent less than in 2010.
The Baku International Sea Trade Port transhipped 1.99 million tons of oil cargo in 2010 which is less by 21 per cent compared to 2009.
In 2009, Baku Port transhipped 2.5 million tons of oil cargo which is 10 per cent less than in 2008. In total, in 2009, the port transhipped 5.1 million tons of cargo.
