Azerbaijan talks power plants operating in lands liberated from Armenian occupation

The total design capacity of the power plants operating in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh is about 10,000 megawatts, Deputy Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Sultanov said on Oct.6 during "Financing sustainable development: steady and green recovery after COVID-19 pandemic" event, Trend reports.

According to Sultanov, the total design capacity of solar power plants in Karabakh exceeds 7,000 megawatts, and wind farms – 2,000 megawatts.

The deputy minister said that a corresponding document has already been signed with bp on the construction of a power plant with a design capacity of 240 megawatts in Jabrayil district.

"Moreover, in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation, together with international organizations, work is being conducted to prepare a plan for the construction and development of a number of other power generation facilities," he added.
