TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 3
Trend:
Iran is facing another winter of power shortages amid insufficient natural gas supplies, therefore it has been agreed that cement plants will store mazut as an alternative fuel in the next few days, the secretary of the Cement Industry Association Abdulreza Sheikhan said, Trend reports citing ILNA.
Sheikhan said that the electricity outage during the summer has led the shortage of cement in the market and increase in prices.
He expressed hope that the insufficient natural gas supplies will not lead to the same results.
Sheikhan expressed concern about the simultaneous power and gas outages in winter. In such scenario (gas and electricity outage at the same time), the cement industry may not be able to meet the winter demand for cement.
