Iran is repairing steam and gas units in 800 megawatt Shahid Rajaei Power Plant in Qazvin due to rising demand for sustainable electricity, said the Managing Director of Shahid Rajaei Power Plant, Trend reports citing IRNA.
A total of 13 steam and combined cycle units in Shahid Rajaei Power Plant will have a major overhaul by May 2022, said Ali Foruhari.
The overhaul operation started in September following the increase of power consumption in the country and currently, 2 steam units and 2 gas units are being repaired with the production capacity of 250 megawatts in each unit.
Four steam and combined cycle units are also being repaired simultaneously as part of an overhaul plan with the production capacity of 800-megawatt electricity.
Iran faced a widespread and sudden power outage in the summer that led to the declineَ of production in industrial sectors.
