Iran sets up gas delivery to Nakhchivan

“The Iranian gas delivery to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan has been set up since Thursday (3 November),” Nazim Samedzade, the deputy chairman of Azeriqaz JSC, told Trend. It comes as the first delivery to NAR over past 15 years.

“At present testing of gas pipelines and equipment with in the NAR is in process. Over 12,000 subscribers will be provided with natural gas in Nakhchivan AR,” he noted.

Samedzade said that from 1 November the Azerbaijani gas will enter Iran for supply to north-east region of the country. The exact amount of the import and export is still to be defined, as the fulfillment of the pipelines is underway. Azeriqaz said that the process will continue 3-4 days.
